CHAIRMAN'S REPORT 2009
I cannot believe that it is nearly a year ago since volunteering my services
and being duly elected by the members as Chairman of the Hampshire CPSA. My
reasons were genuine in as much that I was not prepared to allow all the work
that Andy Gordge had carried out be wasted, only to see the control of the
County return directly to the CPSA. It has been an eventful year in which I hope
I have managed to rekindle the interests of many members so encouraging them to
register their interest, qualify and represent the County at the various Inter
County Competitions.
Sponsorship was a key factor in establishing sufficient funds to move the
Hampshire CPSA forward. Within a very short period of time I had managed to
secure 4 main Sponsors namely Bell Microsystems Ltd, Carry Gently Ltd, Helpful
Computers Ltd, Linear Storage Solutions Ltd. In all £4,000 was raised which did
not include other generous donations from Medicom Health Care, Richard Faulds,
FCTC and various other suppliers who were able to offer a discount as opposed to
cash. Without this sponsorship we would have not been able to present the
Hampshire Shooting Vest to each member who qualified to shoot in the Hampshire
Teams and as such Hampshire members were certainly noticed when turning out to
represent the County during the year. It is my intention to again build on last
years results and again utilise wisely the sponsorship money which has again
been secured for 2010.

Inter County Competitions 2009
This past year has seen Hampshire enter teams in the following 7 Inter County
Competitions having 71 members registered an interest to represent the County;
Olympic Trap – Southern Counties 16th August 2009.
Universal Trench – Newnham Park 6th September 2009.
English Skeet – Southern Counties 6th September 2009.
FITASC – Wylye – 4th October 2009.
Automatic Ball Trap – Southern Counties 4th October 2009.
Down the Line – Newnham Park 11th October 2009.
Sporting – Newnham Park 25th October 2009.
This year Hampshire were successful in winning 3 Inter County titles and
these were in the disciplines of Olympic Trap, FITASC and Sporting.
Congratulations go to all the winning teams and individuals. Equally my sincere
thanks to all those members who travelled to take part in these competitions.
Juniors
This past year 8 members registered an interest to represent the County. This
resulted in each of them receiving a voucher to be used at Fareham Clay Target
Club. Richard Faulds has also kindly offered to provide his services at a
reduced rate in order that these Juniors can undertake tuition by Richard at
Owls Lodge. This is anticipated to take place in the Spring.
England Selection
Congratulations go to Phil Eames who successfully won his England Down the
Line place for the first time. He will also get a cheque for £50.
Committee Members, Hampshire Champions, Team Managers and Web Master
Again my sincere thanks for the support that has been given by both Committee
Members, Hampshire Champions, Team Managers and the Web Master who all have
given their own time over the past year to support the Hampshire CPSA. I am sure
that all of you will appreciate the work that goes on behind the scenes in
bringing together the teams, writing the reports for both the Web site and
monthly CPSA Magazine.
I would like to conclude in wishing everyone a successful year in both
shooting and qualifying to represent Hampshire. May we as a County again build
on the successes of last year by hopefully adding a few more titles.
